Bachelor’s degree in IT

A bachelor's degree is an academic degree awarded by colleges and universities to undergraduates following the completion of a course of study.

Information technology has come to be a widely used phrase but what exactly does it entail? IT defines an industry that uses computers, networking, software programming, and other equipment and processes to store, process, retrieve, transmit, and protect information.

A BTech(IT) is course offered at most science and technology universities and is of a 3-4 year duration. The main focus of the course encompasses computers and technology. The course differs from that of a computer science degree even though some aspects remain the same.

There are different branches of information technology that stretch from programming and analysis to networking.

Some of the core areas integral to the course include system development, data structure and algorithms, operating system as well as computer architecture.

Typically, IT is used in the context of enterprise operations as opposed to personal or entertainment technologies. The commercial use of IT encompasses both computer technology and telephony.

The bachelor of information technology course outlines the basis of IT and educates individuals on a way of life that is incumbent today. The course ultimately shapes the software developers and analysts of the future.
