Shanghai Municipal Education Commission is pleased to announce that they now offer government scholarships to international. These financial aids are available to study bachelors degree or above at Higher Education Institutions in Shanghai.In order to attract outstanding student the Shanghai Municipal Education commision estbished this initiative (Shanghai Government Scholarship) in 2005.

The Mayoral comittee of Shanghai established this initiative with the mindset that Shanghai is undeniably a financial hub of the world, and for this reason students would choose Shanghai as their prefered destination of study.

Full Scholarships are offered for al types of courses, that includes Doctoral, Masters and Undergraduate programs. The total amount for undergraduate is between RMB 59,000 - 63,000. The Total amount for Masters programs is between RMB 70,000 - 80,000. Finally the Doctoral courses have a tota coverage of RMB 87,000 - 100,000.

These scholarships include tuition fees, accomodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance.

Applicants must meet the following guidelines:

·         Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.

·         Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

·         Applicants for master’s degree programs must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

·         Applicants should have good academic performance.

·         Applicants should not be awardees of other Chinese government scholarships at the same time.
