How to apply for scholarship in China?

Below are scholarships available with their application procedure and relevant details, should you be keen on apply applying for a scholarships.

Various scholarships are established by Chinese government, Chinese local governments, Chinese universities and enterprises to encourage international students to study in China.

Chinese Government scholarships

Applications open between April and July for a host of fields of study. To apply one needs to submit necessary documents to receiving agencies.

Procedure for applying:

  1. Consult      relative offices for scholarship details and then submit necessary      documents to receiving agents .

  2. Contact      the University for the Pre-admission Letter. It is possible for students      to be recruited by a different university other than the University of      Choice.

  3. Register      and submit your application to CSC ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM FOR      INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS. Print a hard copy for yourself of the completed      application form.

  4. Send the      application documents to nectary receiving agents. ( Enclose pre-admission      letter if on hand)

v  Application with pre-admission letter will be sent to university of choice

v  Application without pre-admission letter will be sent to universities for placement

  1. The final      admission list approved by CSC will be sent to application receiving      agencies .

 

It is permissible to apply without the pre-admission letter, based on this your application will be taken to the placement centre and depending on the judgement of CSC, will your be recruited. It is of equal importance to know that admission letters and preadmission letters are only valid if they are issued by the admission offices of designated universities. Together with your application and admission documents a study plan must be done in detail with specific research done on utilization.

 

How can I login the CSC Online Application System for International Students?

v  Go to www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.campuschina.org, and click the icon “Application Online for International Students” to enter the system.

v  First-time users should register before entering the online application page.

What do I need to pay special attention to when applying online?

 

v  Please select the program CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP.

v  The item Apply for refers to the program you want to study rather than the degree you have already held.

v  Majors should be one of the existing majors offered by Chinese universities and be based on your actual educational background

v  Preference of Institutions must be chosen from 279 Chinese universities designated by MOE. Any institution beyond the list will not be available for recruitment.

v  Duration of the Major Study should match the program you apply for.

v  Submitted applications can be retrieved for revision. Once retrieved, the previously submitted application becomes invalid. Therefore, revised application should be submitted one more time.

 

 

Documents for application

Generally, applicants must fill in and provide the following documents truly, correctly and completely (in duplicate).

 

v  Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English)

v  Notarized highest diploma

v  Academic transcripts

v  A study plan or research proposal

v  Recommendation letters

v  Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of the applicants’ own works. Applicants for the fine arts programs must submit a CD of the applicants’ own works (including two sketches, two color paintings and two other works)

v  Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.

v  Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months).

v  Applicants with the Pre-admission Letter/Admission Letter from designated universities should enclose the letter in the application package.

v  Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose the photocopy of it in the application package.

 

****The above documents should be bound on top left corner (in duplicate) in order. No application documents will be returned
