The Undergraduate Experience

In china the undergraduate experience is like no other. You will learn of a culture nowhere else to be found in the world. You will communicate with new people in their native language, all the while learning about what you love, gaining the experience required and making new connections during your higher education. There are so many people from all over the world that come to study in China. Unlike other study abroad destinations, China is renowned for its collection of diverse people. With that being the case, you are likely to encounter a very diverse group of international students. You will have the chance as an undergraduate to form ties and friendship that will serve you in the long run. You will have the chance to share and learn so many different things from other nationalities.

You will be exposed to new ideas and thoughts which you could start implementing. You will have the chance to also share your culture with these different people. There will be the platform for the sharing and comparing of ideas that will be beneficial to you.

As an undergraduate in university, you should be expecting to take new courses. This face of education is a whole lot different as compared to the previous ones. In the university, you will become more dependent than you were in high school. Independent in the sense that you will have to be making key decisions for yourself. You will be responsible for all the choices you make at this point in your life. There will probably be no one to be forcing you to study and do things, instead you will be the one to motivate yourself to do all these things.

In some sense you will also have to learn how to work as a team. University work usually requires team effort and hence you will learn how to function in a team. You will be assigned project works and researches where you will be grouped to work as a team.

All these things are part of the undergraduate experience and you are likely to experience all these in your first year of college. The purpose of this article is just to give you an idea of what you are to expect as an undergraduate in your first year in the university. Some of these experiences might be different with regards to the kind of university you are enrolled into.
