China elite Universities

In recent times Chinese universities have rapidly becoming a global force to reckon with. They have undergone tremendous transformations even as they strive harder to conform to the international requirements, in a response to the government’s relentless campaign to bring up world class institutions of learning in the country.

These efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, because taking a look at the recently released Global Employment Survey would show a very high leap by Chinese institutions into recognizable positions. Peking  University leapt the highest by moving from the 129th position, and is now the 11th. Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and other elite institutions. Peking  University was not the only Chinese university to make that list. Four other schools in mainlandChinaalso were present for the first time.

These are all impressive improvements, and china should be cheered for that. However, there is more work to do if Chinese Universities want to fully join the high ranks of world class universities. This is a very important issue, sinceChinaand their educational reforms affect everyone including all the thousands of international students who come to the country yearly to study. Therefore whichever decision and reform that is adopted will affect Chinas future as well as the rest of the world, because of Chinas global influence
