Hsk study in China

We all know that speaking more than one language enriches a person’s own mind and life while opening doors to many different opportunities. Mandarin is also the official language of China and Taiwan and around 1 billion people speak this language around the world.

There are many countries other than china where you can use mandarin and hunt for the opportunities, such as Hong Kong, Macau, Kokang, Wa state, Taiwan and Singapore.

HSK or the Chinese Proficiency Test is an international standardized exam which tests Chinese language proficiency. It estimates Chinese language abilities for non-native Chinese speakers as they may need it in their daily life, while studying at different institutions in china or for the working visa in china.

Vocabulary details and hsk levels:

There are about 6 levels of hsk starting from 1 to onwards that helps you to master the Chinese language.

All these levels include different vocabulary levels as well that the applicant should master.

 

New HSK Vocabulary

HSK (Level VI) Over 5,000

HSK (Level V) 2500

HSK (Level IV) 1200

HSK (Level III) 600

HSK (Level II) 300

HSK (Level I)       150

 

The proficiency of these tests depends as the applicants with hsk level 1 passed can appreciate and use very simple Chinese words and phrases. The ones with hsk level 2 passed can have an excellent grasp of basic Chinese and can communicate in simple and routine tasks.

With hsk 3 and 4 passed you can easily read Chinese newspapers and magazines, enjoy Chinese films and plays, and give a full-length speech in Chinese. For working in china and have a normal life as chinese it is very important to pass hsk level 6. At the end it all depends upon your abilities!

 

Hsk- university requirements:

Some of the universities in china require hsk levels which are different for each major and are set by the administration of the universities themselves. Here are some COMMON list that the universities require from the overseas students:

Science, Engineering –  HSK Level 4

Architecture, Business, Economics, Medicine – HSK Level 4

Liberal Arts – HSK 5
