Program Description

A Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Management degree prepares students for leadership roles in various professional settings. Through didactic courses and hands-on training opportunities, students learn to manage organizations and develop solutions to issues in education.

The Master of Education in Educational Management degree program is rare. Most schools offer a M.Ed. in educational leadership or administration. While many M.Ed. programs can be completed in two years, schools often allow five years or more for completion, since many students are working professionals. Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited university for admission. Many M.Ed. programs are intended for current educators and may require incoming students to show proof of licensure or teaching certification, or have teaching experience. A few schools have online M.Ed. programs, while others educate students using a hybrid of online and on-campus courses. The completion of an internship is typically required before graduating from a M.Ed. program. Some Master of Education in Educational Management degree programs provide prospective administrators with information they need for licensure or certification.
