Design Arts

1. Mission
Our program offers different research directions in design and art studies, which include public visual art, environment art, mural art, digital art, material art, conference and exhibition art, modern architecture, urban art experience. Through intense theoretical studies and practices with the focus on the synthesis of cross-cultural and cross-geographical art phenomenon, our students are expected to take a leading role in design field with their creativity and practical experiences.

5. The dissertation and degree works

1. Once finishing the required credits, students can apply to start dissertation research. Before submitting the dissertation outline, students are required to finish 2 or 3 relevant reports on design topics.

2. The report on the degree works and the dissertation proposal are expected to be completed by the 3rd semester of the 2nd year. The topic of dissertation should combine both the fundamental knowledge related to the major and the new theoretical and technological issues of art design at home and abroad. The outline should include the goal, the methodology, the schedule, and the methods of displaying, with no less than 2,000 characters.

3. The content of degree works and dissertation proposal should be reviewed and supervised by 3 professors or more.

4. Once approved by 3 professors including the tutor, the oral defense of the dissertation could then be preceded.

5. During the dissertation and degree works, two phases of reviews will be arranged so as to have more suggestions from the faculty and make sure the dissertation is on schedule.

6. The display of degree works should be no less than 8 boards; while the dissertation should have enough pictures as supporting materials.

7. All of the works will be exhibited publicly.

1.Non-Chinese citizen without physical and mental problems.
2.Master program applicants must have a bachelor degree. The date due to obtain a bachelor degree should be prior to the admission date.
3.Doctoral program applicants must have a master degree. The date due to obtain a master degree should be prior to the admission date.
4.Applicants for programs taught in Chinese must complete the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 4 (minimum score 180): for humanities in Chinese, HSK5 (minimum score 180) is required, for economics and management in Chinese, HSK4 over 210 points, science and arts, HSK4 over 195 points. International students who obtained the degree from a Chinese program in China are exempt.
5.Applicants for programs taught in English must complete the IELTS (minimum score 5.5) or TOEFL (minimum score 80). International students whose first language are English, or obtained the degree from an English program in an English speaking country are exempt.

Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

Including study purpose, research interest and research plan in brief. (at least 1 A4 page)

6. Certificate of HSK

Question: What is the cost of applying through ACASC?

Answer: ACASC charges a service fee of 50$ for using its online application portal. Applying through ACASC into Chinese universities attracts a service fee of $50.

Question: Can I apply to the university directly?

Answer: Yes. ACASC gives the applicants, the chance to directly apply to their desired universities through our online application portal. We have synchronized our system to create a simple platform that connects universities and colleges in China to international students all around the world.

Question: How can I track my application status?

Answer: To track the application status, please log in your ACASC personal account. Whenever there’s an update, you will be informed on your application status through ACASC system within a day as soon as we receive university’s notification. You will simultaneously receive ACASC auto-email about the application status. To directly inquire about your application status, feel free to send us an email to admission@acasc.cn and our team will keep you updated.

Question: How to deal with a pending application?

Answer: When an application is pending a decision it means that your school has received it and no admissions decision has been made yet. The admissions office may have reviewed your application package or may not have.

The main cause of a pending application is usually incomplete application documents. As a result you will be requested by the school’s admission office to re-check and modify all submitted application documents or perhaps even add extra documents and then re-submit them.

To avoid further delays, carefully read the university’s comments, modify your application form on ACASC, and re-upload the required application documents. You can contact ACASC on admission@acasc.cn for any help with regards to your pending application

How long does it take to process my application?

Processing time varies for different applications. For example to process a degree program application requires more time than a Chinese language application. Confirmation for Chinese language application by the admission office usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. However, time for degree programs application differs. For example fall semester application processing is after March, and it takes a period of 1 to 2 months. This also depends on your qualification and the number of applicants.
