Literature is an art of creation that uses means of expression through language. Language and literature are ways of expression that offer insight into the elements that form a culture, the particular features of a society or social group in terms of spirituality, intellects, emotions and physical environment. The literature discipline explores the interrelations of literature with different kinds of cultural objects. Such objects are films, digital media and the visual arts.

Disciplines related to literature are languages, history and philosophy. Literature subjects of courses include: cultural and literature, topics in literary research, reading fiction, poetry, modern drama, classical literature, women's literature.

Besides advanced knowledge of literary studies, students will broaden their creativity and communication skills. The study of literature gives general knowledge in many fields of interest, enabling analytical thinking of students and developing their ability to make good arguments on any given subject. Literature graduates will become critical readers and writers and also gain academic skills to conduct solid research in the field of literary studies.

Literature graduates can find jobs in a variety of fields working as: editors, teachers, writers, book reviewers / journalists, historians and researchers.

• Language proficiency certificate. Applicants who apply for Chinese taught programs should provide HSK 5 or a higher level certificate. Applicants who apply for English taught programs should provide TOEFL iBT score of at least 60 points or IELTS score at least 5.0, or the relevant certificates of English as the working and learning language for high school study If you cannot provide the language proficiency certificate, you have to sit in our entrance examinations.

• Provide High School Diploma/Certificate and the score report/transcripts. If the Diploma/ Certificate and the score report/transcripts are neither in Chinese nor English, you should provide its notarized Chinese or English translated documents.

• Provide Physical Examination Record for Foreign students.

• If you have graduated for 12 or over 12 months when you submit your applications, you must provide Non-Criminal Record which is issued from your residential police station.

• Any certificate that will make your application vigorous, such as the certificates of scholarships and/or awards.

• Question: What is the cost of applying through ACASC?

Answer: ACASC charges a service fee of 50$ for using its online application portal. Applying through ACASC into Chinese universities attracts a service fee of $50.

• Question: Can I apply to the university directly?

Answer: Yes. ACASC gives the applicants, the chance to directly apply to their desired universities through our online application portal. We have synchronized our system to create a simple platform that connects universities and colleges in China to international students all around the world.

• Question: How can I track my application status?

Answer: To track the application status, please log in your ACASC personal account. Whenever there’s an update, you will be informed on your application status through ACASC system within a day as soon as we receive university’s notification. You will simultaneously receive ACASC auto-email about the application status. • Question: How to deal with a pending application?

Answer: When an application is pending a decision it means that your school has received it and no admissions decision has been made yet. The admissions office may have reviewed your application package or may not have.

The main cause of a pending application is usually incomplete application documents. As a result you will be requested by the school’s admission office to re-check and modify all submitted application documents or perhaps even add extra documents and then re-submit them.

• Question: How long does it take to process my application?

Answer: Processing time varies for different applications. For example to process a degree program application requires more time than a Chinese language application. Confirmation for Chinese language application by the admission office usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. However, time for degree programs application differs. For example fall semester application processing is after March, and it takes a period of 1 to 2 months. This also depends on your qualification and the number of applicants.
