A degree in Agribusiness Economics and Management (ABEM) prepares students to assume positions in the management of the world's human and natural resources. Private firms and government agencies seek employees with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Students develop these skills through their studies in agribusiness management, finance, economic theory, natural resource economics, environmental regulation, quantitative techniques, and economic development, both domestic and international. This option is flexible so that students can add an optional minor in the area of their interest

Students on this program will study in parallel with our agronomy-economics students, forming a large group with a genuine interest in agriculture. The Agricultural Economics and Management course gives you a great opportunity to develop your understanding and skills of business administration or economics. You will choose one of these two subjects as your major on the programme, building your own profile by your choice of optional courses.

In business administration you are offered courses in fields such as production economics, quantitative finance, strategic management agrimarketing and cooperatives as well as in ethics. With a major in economics, there are choices among environmental policy, demand for agricultural products, international food system analysis and sustainable development.

The programme, which is in English, is open to students with a Bachelor´s degree in business administration or economics, wishing to gain a deeper understanding of agricultural and agribusiness issues in particular.
