Chinese Government Scholarship

Chinese Government Scholarship is a full scholarship to support outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. Dalian Maritime University (DMU) was enrolled in the first batch of institutions under Chinese Government Scholarship Program in 1955. As the key maritime institution under the Ministry of Transport, China, DMU was entrusted by China Scholarship Council to conduct independent recruitment of scholarship students since 2008. Up to now, hundreds of international students under this scholarship from all over the world have been educated at DMU.

I Subsidized Target and Scholarship Coverage

1. Subsidized target: this scholarship program is aimed at assisting master’s degree and doctoral degree candidates applying for studying at DMU in 2017.

2. Scholarship Coverage:

——Scholarship recipients are exempt from application fee and tuition.

——Free on-campus accommodation.

——Monthly living allowance (master’s degree students: 3,000RMB/month; doctoral degree students: 3,500RMB/month).

——Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for International Students in China.

Note: Scholarship recipients registering on or before 15th of the registration month will be granted the full living allowance of that

month. Recipients registering after 15th of the registration month will be granted half of the living allowance of that month.

II Qualifications for Scholarship Application

1. The applicant must be a foreign citizen in good health.

2. The applicant must not be a registered student in Chinese universities upon application (graduates from Chinese universities must have been graduated for more than one year).

3. Education and Age Requirements:

The Applicant for master’s degree study should have obtained a bachelor’s degree or will obtain a bachelor’s degree before July 2017 and not be older than 35; the applicant for doctoral degree study should have obtained a master’s degree or will obtain a master’s degree before July 2017 and not be older than 40.

4. The major an applicant applied for studying at DMU should belong to the same discipline of his/her highest level of education.

5. The applicant should not be holding scholarships of any other category supported by Chinese Government or local governments in China.

Liaoning Government Scholarship

Under the mandate of the Liaoning Provincial Government, Dalian Maritime University is opening application for full-time doctoral degree studies under the 2016 Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship Program.In order to facilitate the implementation of Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship, the following detailed implementation has been issued in accordance with the <Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship Application Method>
I. Scholarship scope and distribution
1. The Scholarship is aimed at assisting Doctorate students who apply for studying at Dalian Maritime University in 2016.
Scholarship scope:
—Length of study: 3 years
—Duration of Scholarship: 3 years
—Students are exempt from registration fees, tuition, laboratory fees, internship fees, basic study materials, campus accommodation costs, and medical insurance.
— A living stipend is provided: 3,500RMB/month
Note: The international travelling expenses are covered by the student.
2. Qualifications for scholarship application:
—Applicants must be foreign citizens in good health;
—Applicants must comply with the laws and decrees of China and the regulations of DMU;
— Applicants must have obtained a master’s degree recognized by the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China and not be older than 40;
— Applicants should be graduates of internationally known universities, or those universities that have established exchange programs with Dalian Maritime University. Applicants should have excellent grades and provide two professor recommendation letters;
— Your major of master’s degree should belong to the same discipline of the chosen doctoral degree program.
— The applicant should not be holding scholarships of any other category supported by Chinese Government or local governments in China.

Dalian Government Scholarship

With a view to further development the education of international students, Dalian Government established Dalian Government Scholarship Program for encouraging international students to study hard after being enrolled.

Ⅰ Eligible Applicants:
Self-funded undergraduate students of second and third year
Self-funded master's degree students of second year

Ⅱ Values of Scholarship:
For undergraduate: up to 10000RMB as partial exemption of tuition fee in next academic year
For mster’s: up to 15000RMB as partial exemption of tuition fee in next academic year

Ⅲ Application Time: Every November

Ⅳ Application Qualification:
1. Complying with Chinese laws and regulations and DMU discipline.
2. Respecting the customs of Chinese people, maintaining friendship among peoples.
3. Respecting teachers and uniting fellow students with good conduct.
4. Excellent academic performance, good attendance, and good daily behavior.
5. Having participated in at least one activity or contest of university-level or above organized by DMU; students who actively participated in activities or contests on/off campus and achieved good results or made great contributions to school would be priorities among all the applicants.

Ⅴ Application Materials:
1. Application Form for Dalian Government Scholarship for DMU Students
2. Transcripts of reviewed academic year.
3. Photocopy of awards or certificates of attending contests or activities while studying at DMU.

Ⅵ Application Procedures:
1. Dalian Government Scholarship is evaluated once a year by International Education College. The scholarship committee will determine the finalists and organized relevant interview.
2. The scholarship committee will publicly announce the name list of the winners. You shall raise objections within three working days should you have any dissidence against the results.
3. International Education College will give awards to the winners if there is no dissidence.

DMU Scholarships

For attracting more international students to study in DMU, the DMU Scholarships for Excellent International Students had been established to sponsor the international students who study in DMU. The detailed information of the scholarships is as followed:

Ⅰ Category of Scholarship
Excellent New Students Award (including new language students, new preparatory students, new undergraduates and master’s students), Excellent Undergraduates Award, Excellent Master’s Degree Students Award, Good Progress Award and Excellent Graduates Award.

Ⅱ Values of Scholarship
Excellent New Students Award: 2,000RMB
Excellent Language Students Award: 2,000RMB
Excellent Undergraduates Award: up to 8,000RMB
Excellent Master’s Degree Students Award: up to 10,000RMB
Good Progress Award: 1,000RMB
Excellent Graduates Award: up to 40,000RMB

Ⅲ Rewarding form
The winners can enjoy payment discount in the next study term at DMU, even for different learning programs.

May (in Spring semester) and November (in Autumn semester).
