Beihang Partners with Université de Montréal



Université de Montréal (UdeM) is the second largest research university in Canada and ranked as one of the top universities in Canada.  

 

One behalf of Beihang University, President XU Huibin recently signed an Agreement of Cooperation with Université de Montréal (UdeM). According to the agreement, Beihang and UdeM will launch cooperation in faculty mobility, student exchange and research.  

 

Université de Montréal, founded in 1878, is located in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. UdeM is one of the world’s leading research universities, as shown by its excellent standings in the most highly respected international rankings. It has 67632 students, studying in 16 different schools and two affiliated schools: École des Hautes Études commerciales de Montréal and École Polytechnique de Montréal.


                                               

2nd ICRSE Coming Soon



To promote the development of reliability engineering and enhance the internalization level of our university, School of Reliability and Systems Engineering in Beihang University is going to host the 2nd ICRSE (International Conference on Reliability Systems Engineering), cooperating with IEEE Reliability Association, State Key Lab of Reliability and Environmental Engineering and Reliability Engineering Branch of China Aviation Society,the Advanced Life Cycle Engineering Research Center of Maryland University, City University of Hong Kong and so on.   

 

In October 2015, the first ICRSE was held in Beihang University, which turned out to be a huge success. The conference was launched by the IEEE Reliability Association, and was hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Reliability and Environmental Engineering Technology, the School of Reliability and Systems Engineering, Beihang University, the Reliability Engineering Branch of China Aeronautical Society, and was co-organized by the advanced Life Cycle Engineering Research Center(CALCE) of the University of Maryland and the City University of Hong Kong. The Beijing Branch of IEEE Reliability Association, National Key Laboratory of Maintenance and Maintenance of National University of Defense Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Reliability and Airworthiness Technology Research Center, Sichuan University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Rutgers University, Reliability Institute, IEEE Reliability Association Italy Chapter, Italian Industry and Services Advanced Reliability, Usability and Maintenance Organization ARAMIS, France Paris System Science and Energy Challenges (SSEC), Lorraine University, France Nancy Automation Research Center CRAN , The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and other units provided technical support. The conference attracted more than 260 universities, research institutes and industrial enterprises from more than 10 countries and regions from the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Israel, Lithuania, Singapore, Korea and China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The 103 academic papers were published, and 17 international first-class experts were invited to mark the General Assembly report. Experts and scholars from academics and technical management groups in the fields of aerospace, energy and power systems, manufacturing, power and electronic systems, computer and communications, construction services, industrial automation, medical technology, etc., share the recent research and application development of the Reliability Systems Engineering technology.

THOMAS Beijing Research and Development Center Founded in Beihang



The opening ceremony of THOMAS Beijing Research and Development Center was held in the Vision International Conference Center of Beihang University on the afternoon of February 4, 2017. The center was named after Professor Thomas C. Südhof, a winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, also a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the Health and Medicine Division and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. It was founded by the city of Beijing, Beihang University and Prof. Südhof together.   

 

Focusing on the global issue of repairing central nervous system injuries, THOMAS Beijing Research and Development Center will give full play to its multidisciplinary advantage and undertake both basic and prospective research into pathophysiology, biomaterial modification and preparation techniques, repair mechanisms of neural injuries and so on.
