Humanities comprises of academic disciplines that study the conditions of the human body and the essence of what it means to be human in this dynamic rapid growing world. Liberal arts and Humanities are very similar in many ways and these terms are mostly interchangeable. Mostly, the degree courses offered by the department of humanities are listed as part of social science courses because both disciplines deal with the study of the behavior of humans and the society we live in.

Humanities cover a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary study of society and culture throughout history. Practitioners use ways that are primarily analytic, critical or speculative to study subjects belonging to languages, literature, law, history, visual and performing arts, religion, etc.

Students who obtain Humanities degree develop a great and broad understanding of cultural expression and improve their analytical and communication skills. Students can improve their understanding of society through satisfying their intellectual curiosity in subjects such as philosophy, art, history and literature with an emphasis on multiculturalism.
